Michigan reports 34 new deaths from COVID-19, 607 new cases

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan reported a total of 56,621 cases of COVID-19 and 5,406 deaths on Friday.

That's up 34 deaths and 607 cases from Thursday.

The state said 33,168 have recovered from the virus. Those numbers are updated every Saturday. Recovery numbers include people who are still living 30 days out from the onset of their illness.

Starting Friday, the governor lifted restrictions on medical, dental and veterinary services.

These facilities can resume non-essential procedures.

Procedures that didn't get taken care of in the last two months, but they're ready to start routine operations.
