LANSING, Mich. — There are a total of 314,216 coronavirus cases and 8,543 deaths in Michigan, the state reported Monday.
The state is now reporting 11,511 new COVID-19 and adding 65 deaths. Those increases are since the last reporting on Saturday. The state averaged 5,755 new cases over the last two days.
The CDC recommended Thursday Americans not travel for Thanksgiving during the current spike in coronavirus cases nationwide. There are more than 11 million reported cases of COVID-19 in this country since the pandemic started, and more than 250,000 Americans have died.
On Wednesday, new COVID-19 restrictions went into effect in Michigan. Governor Gretchen Whitmer ordered the suspension of in-person dining services, the closing of high schools, movie theatres, and more.
As of Nov. 20, more than 152,000 people have recovered from the virus in Michigan.
