THE MICHIGAN HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IS BEING INVESTIGATED FOR POSSIBLY VIOLATING COVID-19 WORKPLACE SAFETY REGULATIONS. — The Michigan House of Representatives is being investigated for possibly violating COVID-19 workplace safety regulations.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration has initiated an investigation based on an employee complaint.
The investigation comes after Rudy Giuliani tested positive for COVID-19. He appeared before Michigan's House Oversight Committee – without a mask – on Dec. 2, where he questioned his own witnesses, some of whom worked at TCF Center in Detroit during the Nov. 3 election.
It is unclear when exactly Giuliani tested positive or the details of his condition.
On Tuesday, Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield said a staffer who works with several different members and committees has tested positive for COVID-19. Chatfield said the staffer had nothing to do with the hearing Giuliani appeared at on Dec. 2.
As a result, the Michigan House says it will no lnger be holding session or committee on Wednesday or Thursday.
