LANSING, Mich. — As the economic impacts of the response to the coronavirus pandemic continue, so too will some of the assistance being provided by the state.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced Thursday that 350,000 families will have access to additional food assistance in December. It is an extension of the expanded assistance the state started in March.

The extra benefits will be added to the bridge cards of eligible families by December 30.

“No Michigander should have to worry about how they’ll put food on the table for themselves and their families, especially during a pandemic,” said Governor Whitmer.
