4 new deaths, 121 new cases of coronavirus reported in Michigan

LANSING, Mich. — There are now 58,870 cases of coronavirus in Michigan and 5,656 deaths from COVID-19, according to new numbers released by the State of Michigan on Sunday.

That's up 4 deaths and 121 cases from the previous day.

More than 42,000 people have recovered from the virus, and that number will change on Saturday as the state updates the recovery total.

On Friday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer continued to open more of Michigan. Salons, spas, barbershops and other personal services can resume service on June 15. Also, regions 6 and 8 will move into Phase 5 of the MI Safe Start Plan on June 10, meaning gyms, movie theaters and more can open.
