Two people from outside of Michigan traveled to Grand Traverse County and tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Traverse City Ticker .
The website reports the Grand Traverse County Health Department confirmed both travelers came to the area to visit family.
According to the Ticker, both travelers were symptomatic, and one has been hospitalized. The other is quarantining in a contactless hotel room.
The Ticker also reports that six other family members who were exposed are being monitored and are self-quarantining.
According to the website, there does not appear to be community exposure as the travelers came specifically to stay with family.
The Traverse City area was one of the first two regions in Michigan to open partially last week.
