Michigan ranks fourth in the number of cases, behind New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, but third in deaths behind New York and New Jersey.

433 people have recovered from the virus, according to the state. They'll update recovery numbers every Saturday. Recovered is defined as the number of persons with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis who are alive 30 days post-onset (or referral date if onset is not available).

The growth in coronavirus infections in Michigan is starting to flatten, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Monday.

She warned that this doesn't mean business as usual will resume quickly or soon.

"We've got to make sure that we avoid a second wave at all costs. That would be devastating for our economy," Whitmer said. "So we're going to make decisions based on science and having a real strategic phase-in of our economy when it's appropriate and safe to do."

On Tuesday, Oakland County announced it was requiring all employees providing essential services to wear face masks on the job, per an order issued Monday.

The county also set up drive-thru COVID-19 testing for first responders, essential business employees and Pontiac residents who display symptoms.
