We're still a couple months away from the opening of Cedar Point, but the amusement park has announced a new festival for the season as well as a couple of new restaurants.

According to Cedar Point, they will begin the Frontier Festival in Frontier Town, which is the home of the "best new ride of 2018," Steel Vengeance. The festival is an old west, sunflower-inspired street festival with local artisans, kids' crafts and games, live entertainment, food, drink and more.

For families, they will have a flower patch, a balloon stampede and a junkyard jamboree.

They will also offer specialty food items made on the midway like two-meat bbq baked beans, bison chili, pulled pork sliders, fire-roasted chicken drums, wings, brisket and much more. The festival will run on June 7-30 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day.

On top of that, they announced two new restaurants: Hugo's Italian Kitchen and BackBeatQue.

Hugo's will serve traditional Italian fare like pasta, pizza, sandwiches and more, and it's located in the former Midway Market location near the Raptor. BackBeatQue will have live music and smokehouse barbeque and is a rock 'n' roll and Motown-inspired eatery.

Plus, the park said Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island, the newest attraction, will open on Saturday, May 25. They expect more information to be released in the coming weeks.
