When employees at the Michigan Animal Rescue League came to work Sunday morning, they found a box on the doorstep that contained bodies of seven deceased puppies.
According to a release from MARL, security footage shows a vehicle pulling into the shelter parking lot around 11 p.m., a person walking to the side door, putting the box down and walking away.
Based on the way the puppies were stacked, MARL believes the puppies were not alive when they were left.
“Unfortunately, this is not the first time that we have been faced with a situation like this. There is an animal cruelty and neglect epidemic happening right here in Oakland County,” said Magee Humes, executive director of MARL. “This is just one really sad example of the kinds of things we see almost every day,” Humes said,
