Body of man who jumped from railroad bridge in Ann Arbor found, police say

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office has found the body of a man who jumped from a railroad bridge near Argo dam.

The incident happened on Saturday, May 30. 

A friend of 35-year-old Jason Yoder made a 911 call stating that Yoder had jump into the river, resurfaced, then disappeared. 

Dive teams began searching the area for most of the day, but werw unable to locate Yoder. 

On May 31, a passerby noticed what appeared to be a body in the river near Argo dam. Police have confirmed that the body is Yoder.

In an unrelated incident, police say a 36-year-old woman also disappeared into the river near Portage Lake dam in Dexter around 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 31. 

Police say the woman was last seen putting her kayak into the river. Later that evening, she did not return home and family contacted 911 to report her missing. 

During investigation, deputies located the woman's vehicle. 

Dive teams were activated to search the river where the woman was last seen and were able to locate her kayak. 

The woman has not been found and police are considering her a missing person while the search is still active.
