The bodies of two men who disappeared into the Black River in Port Huron have been recovered, authorities say.

Dispatchers received a report of someone in the water near the I-94 bridge shortly after 2:30 pm.

According to a release, a man in the area who was passing by a pontoon boat saw the first man in the water, and jumped in to try and save him. That good Samaritan also disappeared under the water.

The U.S. Coast Guard were unable to locate either men, changing the incident from a search and rescue to a recovery operation.
