Charges have been filed in connection to the death of a Battle Creek infant.
Kyle Kregling, 29, faces an open murder charge for the death of his 8-month-old baby, according to Battle Creek Police.
Officers found the infant unresponsive on Nov. 2 along West Territorial Road, the city says. Kregling reportedly told police that the infant fell out bed, but an autopsy later revealed that homicide was the cause of death.
Kregling was arrested for first-degree child abuse, and he was arraigned on Wednesday where his bond was set to $150,000.
