This is what operation backpack is all about.
On Tuesday, backpacks and school supplies were handed out to kids at the St. Vincent Catholic Charities home.
They want to thank you for your donations over the last several weeks.
It really makes a difference -- for kids to get a fresh start -- to a fresh new school year.
More than 900 backpacks were collected.
In addition to the kids that received them Tuesday -- they'll go to foster children, refugees and other students in need.
