Feeling overworked? There may be a good reason.

Not all Americans are requesting time off work this year, according to a new Glassdoor survey. The report shows the average American only uses about half (54 percent) of their paid time off.

Sixty-six percent of Americans also report they don't fully unplug from work when taking vacation, compared to 61 percent who reported the same feeling three years ago.

For those who do use all of their vacation time, two thirds of those employees have reported working while off the clock. That may be because 29 percent of those who take a vacation have reported being contacted by co-workers about a work-related matter.

OK, friends: It's time to start planning a summer getaway.
