(WXYZ) — In tonight's UpFront segment, we're talking about race relations in this country with the outgoing President and CEO of the Skillman Foundation Tonya Allen.
She's about to move to the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota to head up the McKnight Foundation. As you know, that state has been at the center of many of these issues, especially in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

"I was drawn and called to help that city go from tragedy and that really traumatic moment, and, hopefully, I can help other leaders there contribute in a way that it's going to be transformational and it really does create trailblazing strategies that not only will make it better for that city but, hopefully, it makes it better for the country," Allen says. "We need examples of how we actually advance racial equity in this community and, actually, I think that community is ready for it and they also are ready or healing and I just feel called to be able to support that process."
