A grandmother has been shot while sitting in her home on Detroit’s east side.

Her grandson, Henry Anderson, was also at home at the time.

Seventy-four-year-old Ivory Lunn is in the hospital now.

The woman's grandson heard 8 to 10 shots fired through the front door and windows and one of those bullets hit his grandmother.

The good news is she's expected to make a full recovery, according to her family members.

Lunn was hit in the upper leg and she's going to be okay.

Anderson said doesn't know why his home was targeted. The woman lives also lives with her daughter, Anderson's mother.

He says he's upset that this happened, but he says it's becoming a common occurrence.

"I feel like living in Detroit, this is something that you're going to be faced with. Innocent bystanders getting shot it happens every day,” Henry Anderson says. “In the last four days around here, people getting shot, you just got to be strong."

His grandmother is expected to make a full recovery. He wants whoever is responsible to turn themselves in.
