and last updated

Every year the top passwords people are using stink and that's being kind. This is a major problem because it's leaving millions vulnerable to cyber attacks. How can you get strong and unhackable passwords? Jimmy Rhodes is talking with Data Doctors' Ken Colburn to find out how we can be better protected when creating these important passwords.

1.  Not Using Passwords

Use pass phrases instead. They are longer than words and easier to remember.

2.  Change Old Passwords

If you haven't changed your password in the last couple of years it highly likely that there's a hacker out there that already has it.

3.  Consider Password Management Services

Don't use the same password everywhere. The easiest way to remember all of them is to let a service do it for you. LastPass is a great option and it works across all of your devices.

4.  Write Them Down

Create your own type of encryption so that if someone else sees your notepad, they'll have no idea what it means, but you will.
