So, the roads may not be packed with fully self-driving cars yet. That's at least 15 or 20 years off, but there are some great cars out there offering similar features. Some can get pricy, but there are also some great deals to be found right now. Jared Cotter met up with Edmunds senior automotive writer Mark Takahashi. He’s popping the hood on three excellent vehicles with self-driving features for under $30,000.

1.  Toyota Prius Prime

It also has a lane departure alert so you don't wander across the road. Drift too much and the Prius will nudge the car back into the center and it will even park your car for you using the intelligent parking assist. The vehicle will automatically control the steering wheel. All this starts at around $28,000.

2.  Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is ranked as one of the best SUV's in that class. One reason for this is the "Honda Sensing" suite of safety features. Things like lane keep assist, frontal collision warning, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert. Another great feature is the "driver attention" monitor. The CR-V starts at around $25,000.

3.  Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra, much like the rest of the cars, have adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist. It also has advanced pedestrian detection and the Elantra has also updated it's "Blue Link Android App" with support for Android Wear products. If it's a hot day or a really cold morning you can start it up, get the AC or the heater working so you get into a car that's a lot more comfortable. The Elantra stuffs big features in a compact four door package starting at around $17,000.
