DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Staff and residents at Independence Village of Grand Ledge spread extra love this Valentine's Day by hosting a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.
They raised $145, which was donated to the American Heart Association.
All staff and residents had to do was pre-order a chocolate rose for $1 for someone in the community.
Once Valentine's Day arrived, a staff member delivered the roses.
The life enrichment director Alexia Nightengale said residents are constantly looking for different ways to support the Grand Ledge community and the staff.
"They used the rose fundraiser as an opportunity to show some love to each other and so many of the staff who have been working hard to keep them healthy and safe. The American Heart Association is near and dear to the hearts of many of us in the community; we are so happy to be able to donate to this cause," said Nightengale.
