Ford and GM November sales up while FCA sales fall

The Big Three has reported their November auto sales, with Ford sales increasing five percent, General Motors increasing eight percent while Fiat Chrysler sales are down two percent.

In all, Ford had a retail sale of 197,574 vehicles and the Ford F-Series had its best November since 2001.

SUV sales for Ford were also up 20 percent, accounting for nearly a third of all vehicle sales last month.

“Strong retail sales increases for both F-150 and our all-new Super Duty pickups drove F-Series above the 70,000 vehicle mark – a November threshold we have not seen in 15 years,” Mark LaNeve, vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service said in a release.

General Motors sold 197,609 vehicles, and the company says the outperformed all full-line manufacturers.

Chevrolet sales were up five percent for its best November since 20014. Buick was up 22 percent for the best November since 2003, while GMC and Cadillac were up nine percent and 17 percent respectively.

"GM’s November performance reflects the continued strength of our U.S. business.  We gained profitable retail share, commercial and small business deliveries were strong and we commanded the industry’s best average transaction prices,” Kurt McNeil, GM’s vice president of U.S. Sales Operations said.

FCA's retail sales were 126,780 units which accounted for a two percent decline from November 2015.

The company's Ram Truck brand had a big month though, up 12 percent. The Chrysler Pacifica sales were also up 13 percent in November from the month before.
