Officials confirmed 325 people in Michigan are under observation for the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

The patients have all either been to mainland China in the last two weeks or were on a potentially contaminated cruise ship. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) consider them all to be medium-risk for the disease.

Lynn Sutfin with MDHHS confirmed they have all be asked to self-quarantine at home to the best of their abilities as they are not high enough risk to need to be quarantined at a facility.

There have been five people in Michigan tested for the CDC's standards for the virus, but all came back negative.

All patients in Michigan are being monitored for difficulty breathing, high fever, or cough.
