Meetings on potential changes to Jackson's trails and sidewalks

JACKSON, Mich. — Monday's forecast calls for a nice day to take a walk or get on a bike.

Officials with the city of Jackson and Jackson County and the Region 2 Planning Commission are teaming up to hold 10 public meetings to engage people living in Jackson on changes they want to see to trails, sidewalks, and bike lanes.

The meetings are being held between Monday, May 6 and Friday, May 10.

Each meeting will be a two hour public workshop. They will include a short presentation followed by opportunities to provide input on the project and concept maps for trails, sidewalks, and bike lanes in the City of Jackson, along with townships and villages in Jackson County.

Monday, May 6
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Blackman Township Hall
2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Columbia Township Hall

Tuesday, May 7
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Spring Arbor University
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Middle School at Parkside

Wednesday, May 8
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Pulaski Township Hall
2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Waterloo Township Hall

Thursday, May 9
1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Parma Township Hall
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Whistle Stop Depot, 210 E. Michigan Avenue in Grass Lake.

Friday, May 10
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Springport Township Hall
2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Summit Township Hall

All Jackson County residents are welcome to attend the meetings.
