If you've seen a Scooby Doo Mystery Machine van cruising the streets of Lansing, you weren't seeing things.

Aaron Aikman and Jerry Jodloski turned a rusted-out 1970 Dodge van into Scooby Doo's classic ride. They spent 10 months and $2,000 rebuilding the vehicle. Aikman says they were motivated to do it, by putting smiles on kids faces.

Aikman said, "It's a passion of ours to bring smiles to kids of all ages, you drive these around, and everybody smiles. If they had a bad day, they're smiling."

The pair also built the Ecto 1 Ghostbusters' car. Both vehicles were on display at the Lansing Center Wednesday in preparation for the "How to Halloween" festival this weekend.

The event teaches people how to make their own Halloween decorations.
