We all know Michigan weather can be indecisive and unpredictable. But with the smell of pumpkin spice in the air and the sight of leaves on the ground, I think it's safe to say fall is finally here!

Halloween is fun for adults and even more fun for children. Taking the children for a hay ride or to a fall festival is a great way for them to have fun without being too spooked.

GO TAILGATING
Go green! go white! football season is here and you guessed it… tailgating! Tailgating can be an awesome experience when you know the best places, follow the rules, and stay safe.

Michigan State University
This year MSU campus is a tobacco free tailgating zone. When kickoff is set for noon or 1 p.m. tailgate lots will open at 7 a.m. If kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. tailgate lots will open at 9 a.m.

For Saturday evening games, lots will open at 1 p.m. Tailgating is permitted in all public parking areas on campus. For more information click here

Michigan
Most lots open at either 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m., and they fill up fast! The most well-known places to set up shop are at the Pioneer High School lot, the U of M Golf Course, and AA Golf & Outing. Be prepared to pay $40-50 per vehicle for parking. For more information click here

Central Michigan University
Alcohol is allowed, but only if you're 21; the legal drinking age! Tailgates can begin four hours before game time, however they have to end when the game starts. For more information click here
 

VISIT A CIDER MILL
Windy weather, cozy sweaters, and leaves on the ground call for delicious donuts and warm cider. Sure, you could stop by your local bakery or convenient store - but nothing beats the experience of visiting your local cider mill for some fresh cider!

Uncle Johns Cider Mill
Founded in the early 1970’s, the owners purchased the farm and decided to make cider and donuts. No preservatives or additives in the cider, and their donuts are fresh in a variety of flavors.

Phillips Orchards and Cider Mill
Phillips Orchards and Cider Mill offers cider tours and tastings every weekend, as well as tree pruning workshops! They grow 34 varieties of apples and 13 different varieties of peaches.
