and last updated

When it comes to autumn time, we all love to stop at a pumpkin patch, whether we're looking for the perfect potential Jack-O-Lantern or looking to take in the beautiful visuals of fall. But there's pumpkin patches, and then there's pumpkin parties: whole events dedicated to the baking, carving, and decorating the tasty squash; and Kristina Guerrero's showing you the coolest 3 from across the country.

1. Pumpkin Village at the Dallas Arboretum - Dallas, TX

Once named one of "America's Best Pumpkin Festivals", this land of pumpkins doesn't just display their pumpkins - it makes art with pumpkins. The village features decorative gardens that use different colored pumpkins, gourds, and squashes to make designs that will amaze you - especially when you see the huts and houses they build with the fall vegetables.

The village also features a pumpkin patch and a Haybale Maze for all your pumpkin buying and corn-mazing needs.

2. The Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival - Highwood, IL

This celebration of pumpkins is three days long, plenty of time for you to take part in all the incredible events they offer. You can trick-or-treat through the festival grounds, jump on carnival rides, and rock out with a long list of awesome bands. And this year, you can watch the festival try to break the Guinness World Record for the most pumpkins carved and lit at once!

3. The Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze - Croton-on-Hudson, NY

This festival is one of the tri-state area's biggest fall events and is a celebration of how creative you can get with your Jack-O-Lanterns. the festival features massive displays of  beautiful art made with Jack-O-Lanterns and their glow, from spooky scenes, to beautifully carved designs, even to giant sculptures!

The festival also features a pumpkin carousel, a planetarium, and even a visit from the Headless Horseman - woOooOoo!
