A new petition online aims to repeal Michigan's Fireworks Safety Law which has increased state revenue.
Many residents statewide are fed up with the loud airborne fireworks disturbing their sleep, and scaring their pets.
A petition on moveon.org now to repeal the 2011 law now has more than 29,000 signatures. 30,000 signatures are needed before the petition can be presented to state lawmakers for action. Fireworks are legal the day before, day of, and day after a federal holiday.
