- To protect your house best while you're away, make sure it doesn't look like you're gone. Criminals will target homes that look like there's no one there.
- Make sure you have a neighbor or friend get your mail for you.
- If you're gone for a week, mow your lawn before you leave, if it's longer, have someone do it while you're gone.
- Use light timers or motion detecting outdoor lights to make it seem like you're home.
- Have someone park in your driveway.
