Is your child glued to their iPad this summer? Swap the iPad for a Lansing Adventure Guide!

Beginning July 30-August 19, the Promotions Committee of Downtown Lansing is hosting the Lansing Adventure Club for children of all ages.

The Adventure Club is an opportunity for kids to get out of the house and see what Lansing has to offer. Children who pick up an Adventure Guide have 21 days to complete 21 fun activities.

“This program gets kids unplugged from their phones and tablets and outside. It will be a great way to keep kids busy during the summer break," Executive Director of Downtown Lansing Inc. Mindy Biladeau said in a press release.

Upon completing an activity, children can bring their Adventure Guide to any Adventure Station to earn a badge. Proof of participation must be present, which can include a photo of the activity, a ticket stub, etc.

Adventure Guides are free and can be picked up in two locations:

  • The Downtown Lansing Inc. office, at 401 S. Washington Sq. Ste. 101 between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • In front of Cooley Law School Stadium on July 10 and July 24 between 12-3 p.m.

Some examples of activities include creating a sidewalk chalk work of art, or going to an outdoor movie night on the Capitol Lawn.

There are 20 Adventure Stations spread throughout Lansing, including the Capitol Area District Library, Impression 5, Cooley Law School Stadium and more. The complete list of Adventure stations can be found here.

Those who collect 15 badges will be entered in a drawing to win a Lansing Lugnuts suite for up to 10 people for the August 31, 2016 game (provided by MLive Media Group), or a prize pack valued at $150 for Impression 5 Science Center (provided by Impression 5).
