Around Town Kids 11/18/16: Silver Bells in the City

Downtown Lansing will show thousands of lights during the Silver Bells in the City celebration, bringing together families and friends to kick off the holiday season.

Silver Bells in the City is a Lansing tradition that is loved by generations of families. It attract 80,000 people to the Capitol each year and takes place annually on the Friday before Thanksgiving in Lansing, Michigan.

The event includes an electric light parade, which steps off Friday, November 18 at 6 p.m. The official state Christmas tree is lit at 7:45 p.m. and fireworks are at 7:50 p.m. 

The fun continues on Saturday, November 19 with the Silver Bells 5K at 9 a.m. and Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. until noon at Troppo in downtown Lansing.
