The Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education announced on Monday evening that they have identified six candidates to interview for Superintendent of Schools after reviewing applications from three dozen contenders for the position. The applicant pool included in-state and out-of-state applicants with a considerable amount of leadership experiences.
“This pool reflects the positive reputation of the Kalamazoo Public Schools and the search criteria that was carefully created by the board with extensive stakeholder input,” notes Donna Oser, CAE, consultant on the search.
These interviews mark the beginning of a rigorous vetting process that will include two additional rounds of public interviews as well as thorough background and reference checks.
The pre-recorded video interviews will be viewed by the Board of Education at a public meeting on January 28, 2020, 6:15 p.m., in the Board Room of the KPS Administration Building. The Board of Education invites parents, family members, community members and district staff members to attend the interviews and offer feedback.
