The White House is upping its social media game.

In an effort to provide a new way for the public to engage with their government, the White House has joined Snapchat.

Their account will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the administration, according to a post on the official White House blog.

The director of product management at the White House states in the post that they are joining Snapchat to try and reach people in new and creative ways.

Today, check for their story—which is expected to show State of the Union preparations.

President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address will be tonight at 9 p.m.

Their Snapchat story--they say-- will have footage you won’t see anywhere else.

To find them on Snapchat—simply add "whitehouse" as a friend.
