If you could use a little cheer and goodwill during these uncertain times, Hallmark might have just the thing. To provide some comfort to those who are cooped up inside during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Hallmark Channel will air a special Christmas movie marathon this weekend.
The marathon kicks off on Friday, March 20 at 12 p.m. ET with “A Christmas Detour” starring Candace Cameron Bure and Paul Greene. Throughout the weekend, the channel will air a total of 27 original “Countdown to Christmas” holiday movies.
The marathon will wrap up with “Christmas in Rome” on Sunday, March 22 at 6 p.m. ET/PT.
You can see the full schedule of films here. Hallmark’s Christmas movies are known for their lighthearted and uplifting tone — and they always feature a happy ending. If you need a little break from all the doom and gloom, snuggling up with a mug of hot tea or a glass of wine and watching one of these flicks is the perfect way to de-stress.
If you want to take the fun to the next level during the holiday movie marathon, consider playing this Hallmark Christmas movie drinking game. It pokes fun at all the cheesy conventions of the movies, like characters with Yuletide-themed names like Nick and Holly and the prevalence of snowball fights and ice skating.
If you don’t love the idea of Christmas in March, the channel is rolling out some seasonally appropriate content as well. On Saturday, March 21, “In the Key of Love” will premiere on the channel at 9 p.m. ET.
It stars Laura Osnes as Maggie, a photographer who finds out her ex-boyfriend and singing partner, Jake (Scott Michael Foster), is in the wedding she’s working. Hallmark Channel teased the new movie on Instagram:
Additionally, Hallmark Channel will show preview specials for its “Spring Fling” and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries lineups.
The network teased the Spring Fling Preview Special on Twitter:
