Gas prices in Michigan stayed the same as last week, according to AAA Michigan.

The average gas price in the state is $1.96 per gallon. Though it's the same as last week, it's 50 cents more than this time last month, but 95 cents lower than this time last year.

“The Michigan state average holding steady means that gas demand and supply are largely in sync, which will likely help to stabilize pump prices for motorists," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA - The Auto Club Group.

Prices in metro Detroit went up just a little to an average of $1.98 per gallon. That's up 3 cents from last week but down 88 cents from this time last year.
