The IRS is offering advice to help keep you safe.
It says beware of tax-preparers promising large refunds-- based on credits and benefits you've never been able to claim.
Scammers usually search for people who don't have a filing requirement like the elderly or people with low-income.
They also may file a bogus return in someone else's name.
Experts say if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
