The day before the 2016 NBA draft, former Spartans star Denzel Valentine is named Big Ten Male Athlete of the Year.
He's the third Michigan State athlete to win the Jesse Owen's Male Athlete of the Year Award.
Warriors forward Draymond Green won the award in 2012, and hockey goalie Ryan Miller received it in 2001.
Valentine averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists last year as a senior at MSU.
