Some of the art stolen from the East Lansing Art Festival last weekend has been recovered. East Lansing police say they have recovered 6 of the 11 paintings that have been reported missing by three vendors who took part in the festival.

Police say no one has been arrested, but they expect charges will be coming.

East Lansing Police Lt. Scott Wriggelsworth tells Fox 47 News it was "good police work" that led to the recovery of the art. Investigators watched surveillance video from the night of Saturday May 21 and noticed the suspicious activity.

Detectives went to houses along nearby Abbot Road, spoke to residents, developed leads and soon recovered the 6 pieces.

East Lansing Police encourage anyone who may have the remaining 5 pieces of art to turn them in, or at least leave the art some place public and notify police. Police say their primary concern is recovering the art.
