A suspected predator charged with trying to abduct a 16-year-old girl in Muskegon County last month is now tied to two of the area's biggest unsolved crimes.

Police say Jeffrey Willis is now being considered a 'person of interest' in the 2013 disappearance of Jessica Heeringa, who went missing without a trace from working the nightshift at a gas station.

Federal and state investigators are interviewing known associates to Willis to determine any connections to Heeringa.

They're also looking into whether Willis has any possible connection to the 2014 murder of Rebekah Bletsch.

She was found shot to death on the side of the road in Dalton Township.

Tests on a 22-caliber handgun found in Willis' van are expected to be finished later this week.

Investigators say the murder weapon used to kill Bletsch -- was also a 22-caliber handgun.
