A young girl was approached by a stranger at a bus stop, prompting police to issue a warning to parents in the area.

Police say a man pulled up alongside a 10-year-old as she headed to school Monday morning and asked her if she wanted a ride.

It happened in Grandshire Trailer Paker in Fowlerville.

The girl ran to a nearby relatives house for safety.

Authorities are looking for a man in his mid-30s with no facial hair.

The girl says he was dressed in all black and was driving an old rusty blue car.

Fowlerville police say this incident serves as a reminder to parents everywhere about the importance of educating your children about 'stranger danger.' Remind children never to talk to people they don't know and never approach random cars.

If approached by a stranger, please advise kids to run and make noise to draw attention.
