As the application deadline for medical marijuana dispensaries approaches in just a week, pot shops all over Lansing are sitting back and waiting. According to Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope to date nobody has applied for a medical marijuana license.

FOX 47's Marcus Dash went to ten dispensaries that Lansing has to offer to find out why they haven't started applying. Eight of the ten denied talking, but two did talk to us. Danny Trevino, owner of Hydroworld did not know that the deadline was December 15th. He says that he is going to take a year off to see how the medical marijuana market does in Lansing, with the changes.

FOX 47 News also spoke to Mike Barron, marketing director of Get Meds lounge. He said that the application is a long and stringent process. He also said that their lawyers are going over it and will have it done by next week.

FOX 47 News reached out to Lansing City Attorney James Smiertka and he said they expect a lot of applications to come in next week, he also mentioned that they will be forced to shut down any dispensary that doesn't apply, and is still operating on the December 15th deadline.

FOX 47 News will keep you posted as the deadline approaches.
