Memorial Day events, parades throughout Michigan

To honor those who have served our country, many cities and organizations are putting on events throughout Michigan. Here is a list of some throughout the state for you to visit while enjoying your Memorial Day. 

Saint Joseph Memorial Day Parade -  Parade starts at the intersection of Lake Blvd. and Park St. and travels down Lake Blvd. to the John E. N. Howard Bandshell. A short program at the bandshell will be held after the parade.

Dexter Memorial Day Parade – Starts at 10 a.m. and goes down Ann Arbor St. and Main Street.

Fort Wilkins Historic State Part Memorial Day Ceremony – 10 a.m. to noon, located at Fort Wilkins Historic State Park, 15223 U.S Highway 41, Copper Harbor, MI

Lowell Memorial Day Parade - The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. and travels along Historic Main Street, turning north on Monroe St., ending at Oakwood Cemetery. 

Pentwater Memorial Day Parade - Memorial Parade starts at First Street with line-up at 9:30 a.m. across the street from the Baptist Church.

Tommy's in Walloon Rock Out Dock Out Memorial Day party – Located at 4127 N. M-75 for games, food and bouncy houses for the kids. At noon, there will be a paddleboard race.Ypsilanti Memorial Day Parade – Starts at 9 a.m. and runs North down Huron St. to Cross St. and on to River St. ending at the cemetery.

2016 Memorial Day Mass at St. John Catholic Cemetery - A special Memorial Day Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 30th at St. John Catholic Cemetery, located at 403 E. South Street in Jackson. 

Ortonville Memorial Day Parade – Starts at 9:30 a.m., Memorial Day Parade route starts at Old Town Hall (corner of Mill Street and Church Street). Parade proceeds down Mill Street to M-15. Going North on M-15, parade enters the Ortonville Cemetery on the West side of M-15. The Parade will end inside the Ortonville Cemetery.

Birmingham Memorial Day Weekend Event – Starts at 10 a.m., program includes addresses of historical interest, popular songs, wreath laying at the monuments and live music. Located at Shain Park, 151 Martin Street, Birmingham Mich.

Ferndale Memorial Day Parade – Starts at 10 a.m., parade will start at Woodward & Maplehurst south to Nine Mile Rd, west to Livernois and to the Veteran’s Memorial.

Hazel Park Memorial Day Parade - Parade begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of John R Rd and 8 Mile Rd. After the parade, join the fun at the Memorial Festival Carnival.

Holly Memorial Day Parade – Starts at 10 a.m. and begins at North Saginaw Road and continue through Downtown Holly and over to Lakeside Park for Memorial Day Services.

Beverly Hills Memorial Day Parade and Carnival - The parade begins at 11 a.m. in the east parking lot of Groves High School, travels north on Evergreen to Beverly and concludes at Beverly Park. Carnival follows the Parade at Beverly Park from noon - 3 p.m. 

Troy's Memorial Day Ceremony - Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. at Veterans Plaza in front of City Hall.

Lowell Memorial Day Parade – Starts 10 a.m. in downtown Lowell, 113 Riverwalk Plaza, Lowell.
