The Capital Area Salvation Army’s 2016 Red Kettle Fundraising Campaign is in full swing. Local celebrities from the media and the 2016 Red Kettle Campaign honorary chair, Jake Boss, Jr., Michigan State University (MSU) baseball coach, are showing their support of the Salvation Army’s efforts by ringing bells at red kettles in downtown Lansing.

The community is invited to come downtown and say hello to Coach Boss and the Lansing area media celebrities from WLNS, WILX and FOX 47 while also placing a donation in a Capital Area Salvation Army red kettle.

The Red Kettle Fundraising Campaign is the Capital Area Salvation Army's largest fundraising event of the year. The 2016 goal is to raise $230,000. The overall Christmas fundraising goal is $960,000 which will include the money raised through the red kettles along with various mail appeals. It’s only through the generous donations of our community that the Salvation Army can continue to provide for the needs of our neighbors in the Capital area, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.
