Sparrow Clinton Hospital recently earned recognition from the National Rural Health Association in two categories: as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital and as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital.

A total of 1,250 leading Critical Access Hospitals in the United States were ranked by iVantage Health Analytics. Critical Access Hospitals must meet several federal requirements, including having no more than 25 inpatient beds and being located in a rural area at least 35 miles from another hospital.

Sparrow Clinton was recognized as a Top 20 hospital based on nine indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, population risk, cost, charge, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, and financial stability.

For the Top 100 award, iVantage rates hospitals based on 10 indices of strength, including competitive strength, competitive intensity, market size and growth, population risk, cost, charge, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives and financial stability.

Sparrow Clinton Hospital provides a wide variety of diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services and in 2014 opened a state-of-the-art Emergency Services Department. The department includes private, high-tech treatment rooms and innovative methods to ensure Patient flow.
