OLIVET, Mich. — As part of its 175th anniversary celebration, Olivet College will host “Moments in Time: An Oral History of Olivet College Through the Eyes of Eight Decades of Students,” Wednesday, March 20 at 1:30 p.m. The panel presentation will take place in Mott Auditorium, 400 East St., Olivet, Michigan. A reception with refreshments will follow the presentation. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel will present an engaging and entertaining walk through OC's history from the 1940s to present day. Alumni from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s and a current student will share some of the lesser-known and unknown stories of Olivet College during life-altering times in history at both the college and national/international level.
A few topics the panel may discuss include Sept. 11, 2001, the transition from typewriters to computers; the introduction of email, social media and the iPhone; Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination; the Vietnam War; the 1945, 1968 or 1984 Detroit Tigers World Series championships; the Miracle on Ice; and more.
