An 8-year-old girl listed as missing and endangered early Wednesday has been recovered by police following negotiations outside a Taylor home between police and the girl's biological father.
Janna Marie Lewis, who is wheelchair-bound, was recovered from a home on Kensington Street on Wednesday evening.
According to police, Janna was last seen in the 2500 block of Fort St. in Trenton. She was with her father, Michael Charles Lewis, who failed to return her to her mother following a court order.
Michigan State Police say the father is now in custody and being questioned. Authorities are also working with Child Protective Services to have Janna taken to a local hospital to be checked as a precaution.
There were no injuries to law enforcement, the father, or the child during the execution of the search warrant, police say.
