Michigan man, woman charged with trafficking woman from Ohio

A Hamtramck man and St. Clair Shores woman have been charged with the human trafficking and prostitution of a Columbus, Ohio woman.

Lorenzo Hatcher, 25, and Lamyia Sneed, 21, were charged by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Wednesday, June 6 and arraigned in 36th District Court on June 7. 

The two allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and human trafficked a 20-year-old woman from Columbus from March 28 through June 3, according to a release. The incident happened in the 1100 block of Stockwell in Detroit. 

Sneed allegedly committed the crime of prostitution by transporting, facilitating and accepting earnings in connection with the victim. 

Hatcher received a $500,000 cash bond, while Sneed was given a $250,000 cash bond. 

A probable cause hearing for both defendants is scheduled for June 20 at 8:30 a.m. and a preliminary examination is scheduled for June 29.
