LANSING, Mich. — The Attorney General is seeking a new sex crime charge against former Michigan State University Dean, William Strampel.
This week the Attorney General's office filed a motion to add a charge of second-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct against Strampel.
A spokesperson for the Attorney General says the new charge is "predicated on the legal theory that Dean Strampel committed his sexual assault during the course of another felony - Misconduct in Office."
The Attorney General's office also filed a motion to admit additional evidence against Strampel at trial of four photographs found on Strampel's work computer of what they describe as "scantily clad women donning MSU apparel or insignia."
The Attorney General is seeking to admit a video discovered on Strampel's computer that depicts Larry Nassar performing 'a treatment' on a young female patient.
The A.G.'s office says Nassar is not wearing gloves in the video although and his hands are in the patient's vaginal area.
A hearing on these new motions will be held April 12.
Strampel was Dean of Osteopathic Medicine at MSU, and Larry Nassar's boss.
In addition to misconduct in office, which is a felony, Strampel is charged with fourth degree criminal sexual conduct, a high misdemeanor and two misdemeanor counts of willful neglect.
