The Jackson Police Department is offering a reward for information about a shooting incident on Monday, September 26, 2016 that left a teenager wounded.
The 17-year-old student was getting onto a school bus when he was shot from behind by a suspect. The student was hit in the arm by a single bullet. He was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health for treatment.
Investigators have identified a possible suspect in the shooting, but no warrants have been issued yet. The police are looking for information and are offering a $1,000 reward for any witness who can identify the shooter. The victim was released from the hospital on Tuesday, September 27. He is currently in custody at the Jackson County Jail where he is being held on a Circuit Court probation violation warrant. He is expected to appear in Judge Beebe's court; possibly as soon as Wednesday, September 28.
