JACKSON, Mich. —
Jackson City Councilmember Jeromy Alexander says he will address what he calls "motives to manipulate an upcoming election" during Tuesday night's city council meeting.

Earlier in May, Cindy Eby said the city of Jackson disqualified her from appearing as a mayoral candidate on the November ballot.

Eby says she submitted petitions to join Mayor Derek Dobies and Councilman Jeromy Alexander in the race for mayor back in in April. However, the city clerk and city attorney said they were invalid because they were submitted before being notarized.

Eby says she was rejected so she couldn't challenge Mayor Derek Dobies.
