An Albion man is in the hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a semi-truck on Interstate 94 westbound in Jackson County.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Monday night near the Parma Road exit. The Jackson County Sheriff's office says a car headed westbound, rear-ended a tractor-trailer from behind. The car exploded into flames on impact, the 36-year old driver from Albion was trapped inside.
Two Good Samaritans who witnessed the crash stopped and pulled the man from the burning car. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities say the semi-truck driver was not injured.
The Sheriff''s office says speed and alcohol are factors in the crash and charges will be requested against the driver from Albion for Operating While Impaired (OWI).
