Bruce Township Clerk Susan Brockmann has pleaded guilty to being super drunk.
She told Macomb County District Judge William Hackel II, she drank wine and mixed drinks back on September 11 and her blood alcohol level was .20 when she took a breathalyzer test with Michigan State Police. A second test showed .18.
According to State Police, Brockmann was at the township hall at 3 a.m. when the building alarm went off. Officers arrived and that's when she reportedly backed her car into a State Police cruiser, causing minor damage. She was arrested but also tried to make a deal with officers to let her go home, and asked if they would drive her, according to police reports.
Her case created controversy because she did not reveal her arrest to voters before being reelected to a third term in November. She was charged after the election because MSP was waiting for blood toxicology to be completed.
7 Investigator Jim Kiertzner asked her outside of the courtroom this morning why she kept her case from the voters and if she now plans to resign. Her answers will be revealed in a full report later on 7 Action News.
